Eureka Seven (pronounced ay-oo-re-ka not yoo-ree-ka), follows the adventures of young Renton Thurston after he joins Gekkostate, a rebel group renowned for their skillful "lifting" (or "drifting"), a form of air-surfing. Renton forms a special bond with one particular member of Gekkostate, Eureka. Essentially, the series is a coming-of-age story that manages to incorporate some very serious themes.
I love this series, but I give it a 95% because I feel it lacks something very important--catharsis. That having been said, it is a great series overall, and the mere presence of continual references to Frazer's "The Golden Bough" is enough to get me excited.
